With a record number of entries in this year’s New Zealand Food Awards, the celebrity judges say they continue to be amazed by what is happening in the food scene.
Recipe: Fennel-rubbed butterflied leg of lamb with kumara flatbreads
The classic lamb roast wallowed in the oven for hours and was served with overcooked vegetables and sharp mint sauce. Butterflied leg of lamb is a far better prospect, making a great quick roast. It’s also fantastic on the barbecue – the cooking time should be about the same but it will depend on your style of barbecue.
