New safe speed camera to help improve safety and prevent road trauma

A new safe speed camera will start operating next week on State Highway 2 in Maramarua in an effort to lower speeds and reduce deaths and injuries on our roads. “Road crashes have devastating impacts on families and communities,” says Superintendent Steve Greally, National Manager Road Policing. State Highway 2 in Maramarua is among 33 locations across the country where new digital cameras are being installed as part of the third phase of the $10m static camera expansion programme, announced in July 2013.
